Valentin Rose the Elder

Valentin Rose the Elder ( born August 16, 1736, in Neuruppin, † April 28, 1771 in Berlin) was a German chemist, metallurgist, chemist and Assessor of Medizinalkollegiums in Berlin. He came from a Brandenburg merchant and academic family.

1761 Rose bought in Berlin the pharmacy to the White Swan, where the later chemist Martin Heinrich Klaproth in 1770 was his apprentice. His son Valentin Rose the Younger pharmacy continue after his death resulted. Rose is the discoverer of Roses metal, named after him alloy with a low melting temperature.
