Valentina Cervi

Valentina Cervi ( born April 13, 1976 in Rome, Italy) is an Italian actress.

Life

Valentina Cervi is the daughter of director Tonino Cervi and producer Marina Gefter. Her grandfather was Italian actor Gino Cervi, who is known in German-speaking countries mainly because of its role as a communist mayor Peppone in the film adaptations of the 1950s and 1960s by Don Camillo.

Although the little Valentina her father often allowed to accompany to the set, she first had no ambitions to get into the film business. She felt rather by the mysteries of the church dressed and saw their future rather behind the walls of a monastery. At the age of ten she had her first appearance in Carlo Cottis Portami la luna. However, their views on the film changed abruptly when she began working as a production assistant at the age of 17 years to earn some money for themselves. She studied while the Director of Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavsky method. At 20, she began to deal with the work of her grandfather.

She has worked with numerous international directors such as Jane Campion with ( Portrait of a Lady ), Mike Figgis (Hotel ) and Peter Greenaway ( The Tulse Luper Suitcases ). It recorded so far, probably your biggest success in the title role of the film Artemisia, directed by Agnès Merlet. The film is based on the life story of the Renaissance painter Artemisia Gentileschi. In 2005, she was seen with the film Provincia Meccanica at the Berlinale. 2006 was the jury for best first film at the Berlinale member. In ZDF four-part series War and Peace on the novel by Leo Tolstoy, which was broadcast in January 2008, Valentina Cervi played the role of Princess Mary Bolkonskaja. 2012 Cervi was featured in the HBO series True Blood, in which she played the lead role of Salome.
