Valeri Emilow Boschinow [. Və '. Lɛ.ri bɔ ' ʒi.nɔf ] ( Bulgarian Валери Емилов Божинов; * February 15, 1986 in Gorna Oryahovitsa, Bulgaria; scientific transliteration Valeri Bozinov, FIFA spelling according to Valeri Bojinov French transcription ) is a Bulgarian football player who is currently under contract with Sporting Lisbon.

Valeri Bojinov, is indeed a native Bulgarian, but grew up in Malta, where he was as a child with his mother, a former volleyball national team, emigrated.

There he was at the age of 13 years by the former sporting director of the Italian club U.S. Lecce, Pantaleo Corvino, discovered and bound for the equivalent of about 15,000 euros.

Bojinov was considered a huge talent and was on 22 January 2002, at the age of only 15 years and 11 months, made his debut in Serie A. He is the youngest player ever in the highest Italian league.

During the winter break of the 2004/05 season Bojinov then moved for about 13 million euros to Fiorentina, but where he never quite made ​​the breakthrough.

For the 2006/07 season Valeri Bojinov moved on loan to Juventus, who sold the Romanian Adrian Mutu to Fiorentina in return. Juve had an option to purchase and ready and able to commit for six million euros at the end of the season, but did not notice this. Throughout the season he came under coach Didier Deschamps, the lack of understanding by experts and fans, only sporadically used. He was often only on in the closing stages and could thus hardly show his potential. After the season he left Juve disappointed and went back to Florence.

In August 2007, Valeri Bojinov joined for eight million euros for English club Manchester City, where he signed a contract until 2011. Already on matchday three, the derby against Manchester United, he was injured but with a torn ACL hard on his left knee.

After he came in two years at Manchester City to just eleven Premier League missions, he joined in the summer of 2009 on loan to Italian club Parma. On 4 July 2010, the club announced a definitive commitment of the attacker.

In summer 2011 he was engaged by Sporting Lisbon, where he was awarded for the second half of the season 2011/ 12 at U.S. Lecce. The season 2012/13 he spends likewise initially on loan. Hellas Verona became his new employer.

After continuing good performance Bojinov made ​​his debut before the 2004 European Football Championship in the Bulgarian national team.
