Valerian Freyberg, 3rd Baron Freyberg

Valerian Bernard Freyberg, 3rd Baron Freyberg (* December 15, 1970 ) is a British peer and artists.

Life and career

Valerian Freyberg is a son of Colonel Paul Freyberg, 2nd Baron Freyberg and Ivry Perron Elle Katharine. He attended Eton College in Berkshire and the Camberwell College of Arts, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1994. In 1993 he succeeded his father as the carrier of the title Baron Freyberg.

Freyberg has worked as a freelance artist after he has acquired from 2004 to 2006 a Master of Arts from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London.

With the enactment of House of Lords Act 1999 Freyberg lost with almost all other hereditary peers its automatic seat in the House of Lords. However, he was chosen as one of 90 hereditary peers who continue to have a seat and vote in the House of Lords.

Since 2002, he is married to Harriet Atkinson. The couple has a son, who is also heir.
