Valery Belenky

Valeri Belenki ( born September 5, 1969 in Baku, Soviet Union ) is a German former gymnast and current gymnastics coach. He was Olympic champion in 1992 with the team of the CIS countries and the twice world champion on pommel horse and with the team.

In the art turn- Bundesliga, he took up with the WKTV Stuttgart and was repeatedly German team champion. Belenki is 1.63 meters tall.

Biography

Belenki has German roots; his grandfather had emigrated shortly after the turn of the century from Bavaria in the later territory of the Volga German Republic.

He grew up in the Soviet Union in what was then the Azerbaijan Republic. With ten years he came to the " talent Schmide " to Moscow.
