Vanak

Vanak (Persian ونک ) is a district in the north of Tehran. The name means Small oak and goes back to the name of the village that existed here prior to its incorporation and in its immediate vicinity Armenian community lives.

Vanak is a wealthy neighborhood with high commercial and residential complexes, a golf course, cafes and shopping centers. The largest Armenian Sports Centre, Ararat Sports Complex, a Zurkhaneh and until 1995, a theme park by the name of Shahr -e Bazi (formerly Funfair ) are also located there.

The Square of Meydan -e Vanak is a major hub of the city, from which extend several highways like the Jahān -e Kudak and Mollā Sadra. The Valiasr - road leads across the square. ( Lage35.75754851.409981 )

The grave of a former Prime Minister, Mostofi al - Mamalek, is also located in this district.
