Värska Parish
Värska is a rural municipality in the Estonian Põlva circle with an area of 187.7 km ². It has 1399 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2006).
In addition to the main town Värska ( 635 inhabitants) belong to the municipality the villages Koidula, Kolodavitsa, Kolossova, Korela, Kostkova, Kremessova, Kundruse, Litvina, Lobotka, Lutepää, Matsuri, Määsovitsa, Nedsaja, Orsava, Pattina, Perdaku, Podmotsa, Popovitsa, Rääptsova, Saabolda, Saatse, Samarina, Sesniki, Säpina, Tonja, Treski, Ulitina, Vaartsi, Vedernika, Velna, Verhulitsa, Voropi, Võpolsova and Väike Rõsna.
Värska is the center of Setumaa and setukesischen culture in Estonia. The place is documented since 1585. The oldest footage of Värska originate from 1912 from the film Matk läbi Setumaa ( walk through Setumaa ) of the Estonian director John Pääsuke ( 1892-1918 ). Famous are the mineral water Värska and the quiet, dominated by rivers and lakes.
