Father against his will is a German family series, which was sent from 1995 to 2002 in the ARD. It consists of three pilot films and two seasons to 13 episodes.

Action

The successful conductor Max Oldendorf takes over the South German Symphony Orchestra, whose principal conductor is shortly before died of a heart attack. Then he gets a visit from his ex-wife Ingrid Bach. She is a paleontologist, and has received a research contract in the Andes; Max should therefore take the three common Gitti daughters, Beatrice and Marlene with him. He reluctantly does so. So he has his daughter Marlene from a sect free, Bea has to prevail with their desire to abandon her medical studies in favor of a career as a paramedic and a kidney collapse of Gitti brings Max and Ingrid each other again a little closer.

Later Oldendorf get to know the American soprano Helen Hunter. From the two, a pair; and she brings her two adopted sons Henry and William with in the relationship. Thus, among other things, have the strained by Williams 's natural mother custody battle, Henry's experiments with drugs and the breakaway of Henry and William when they both think that Max wanted to send her to boarding school, to be managed.
