Status

The Vaurienachtschwalbe has been known only by a female immatures, in September 1929 in the Taklamakan in a circle Guma ( Pishan ) was collected in the southwestern Xinjiang in western China by Frank Ludlow and is preserved in the Natural History Museum. Some researchers consider the Vaurienachtschwalbe for a dubious taxon, especially on expeditions in the 1970s and 1990s, only copies of the Chinese - Nightjar C. europaeus subspecies plumipes were discovered in the region in question. Maybe it could act at the Vaurienachtschwalbe to an abnormal copy of the immatures Chinese nightjar or to an extinct species. A molecular analysis of the existing copy has not yet been performed. The region in the terra typica is now badly damaged by overgrazing.
