Velcra

Velcra is a Finnish band whose style is composed of elements of Metal, Alternative Rock and Electronica.

Band History

Originally, the group only from the singer Jessi Frey and multi-instrumentalist OD The two took in 1999 to their first demo tape. The songs are stylistically somewhere between metal and pop music. The demo tape was shortly after the release of the title "Demo of the Month" in Metal Hammer UK.

There are too little for two live performances, it was decided to include other band members. So the bassist and the drummer Mikko Gunnar came about. They were then taken by EMI Finland under contract and played 2002 their debut album Consequences of Disobedience. After the CD was in stores and her first single had entered the charts, the band went on tour. Initially, only in Finland and later in Germany and England. Thus they became known internationally and EMI Germany had their album in Germany appear. For another tour with Exilia and Oomph! were still the bassist for Willi and DJ Freak on keyboards and turntables to it. In summer 2005, the second album Between Force And Fate on which the two newcomers are heard appeared.

In spring 2007, the third album of the band appeared. Hadal devotes the only subtle electronic influences to the fore. Bonds from breakbeat and drum and bass dominate the work and are only temporarily supported by drums and electric guitar. The vocals by Jessi Frey falls out much cleaner and more melodic.
