The St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria ( Bulgarian Великотърновски университет " Св св. . Кирил и Методий ") is a university founded on 15 September 1963 as the College of Education.

The first courses were Bulgarian Philology, Russian Philology, history and art education. Since then, the university has grown considerably and now offers more than sixty disciplines in eight faculties and has offices in Pleven and Vratsa. It is the largest Bulgarian university outside of Sofia.
