Vendor Independent Messaging

Vendor Independent Messaging ( VIM) is a programming interface for sending e -mails out of Windows applications. It was in the early 1990s by Lotus Software, Borland, IBM and Novell designed for Windows 3.1. VIM was defeated in the market penetration developed by Microsoft MAPI interface and is no longer being developed.
