Veniamin Alexandrov

Veniamin Weniaminowitsch Alexandrov (Russian Вениамин Вениаминович Александров; born April 18, 1937 in Moscow, Russian SFSR, † November 6, 1991 ) was a Soviet ice hockey player.

In the Soviet League, he scored 345 goals in 400 games. He played from 1955 to 1969 for the HK CSKA Moscow and won ten times the Soviet championship titles (1956, 1958-81, 1963-66 & 1968). In 1963, he was with 53 gates of the top scorer in the league.

For the Soviet national ice hockey team he played from 1957 until 1968., Where he scored 119 goals in 161 games and won the Hockey World Cup in 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1968. Initially he formed with Alexander Almetow and Konstantin Loktew a extremely powerful storm series. Later, with Boris Mikhailov and Vladimir Petrov, here he was then replaced by Valeri Kharlamov.

Later he served as a trainer for HK CSKA Moscow, SKA Saint Petersburg and CSKA Sofia Bulgarian club operates.

In 1963 he was honored for his achievements with induction into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame and in 2007 into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
