Venus București

Venus Bucharest was a Romanian football club from Bucharest. Until its dissolution in 1949, he was a total of eight times the Romanian football champions.

History

Venus Bucharest was founded in 1915. Between the First and Second World War Venus was a total of eight Romanian champion, but never won the Romanian Cup. In the years 1937 to 1942 Venus took part in the Mitropa Cup, but it always failed in the 1st round.

After the Second World War, Venus started in the season 1946/47, Divizia B. In 1948, the Communist government of Romania determined that all sports clubs must affiliate to a union or public body. Then Venus merged with Uzinele Comunale Bucharest ( sanitation) to Venus UCB Bucharest and played in Divizia C. In 1949, the club was disbanded.
