Venus Versus Virus

Venus Versus Virus is a manga series by Atsushi Suzumi, which appeared from 2005 to 2008 in Japan. The work is classified in the genres of action and fantasy, and was adapted into an anime, among other television series.

Content

The middle school student Sumire Takahana (鷹花 スミレ) has the ability to see supernatural creatures. One day she meets Lucia Nahashi (名 橋 ルチア), also referred to just such beings virus fights. Lucia is part of a group called Venus Vanguard which, disguised as a boutique, helping people who are threatened by the monsters. Head of the group is Lucia's adoptive father Soichiro. Sumire joins them soon and is also useful with their skills.

Publication

The manga was released in Japan in June 2005 ( issue 8 /2005) to 27 July 2008 ( issue 9 /2008) in the magazine Dengeki Comic Gao! and, following cessation of end of February 2008 in the magazine Dengeki Daioh. The publisher MediaWorks brought out in chapter eight anthologies.

Since January 2013, the series appears in German when Carlsen Verlag in a translation by John Schmitt - Weigand. So far, five volumes came out. There are also translations into English, French, Italian and Chinese.

Radioplay

Frontier Works published in October 2006, an adaptation of the manga as a radio play with five chapters. In April 2007, a second CD with Lantis.

Anime

2007 produced the Studio Hibari directed by Shinichiro Kimura a twelve- episode anime television series based on the manga. The character design designed Yoshimi Agata and the art direction was Katsuhiro Haji. The first broadcast took place from 12 January to 30 March 2007 after midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ) in TBS in the Kantō region. With about two weeks followed offset BS -i ( nationwide via satellite ), KBS Kyoto in Kyoto Prefecture and Chūbu Nippon Hoso in Greater Nagoya ( Chūkyō ).

FUNimation Entertainment offered the series in an English version of streaming. A German synchronization was published in 2008 in ADV Films.

Voice Actors

The German synchronization was made at Berliner Synchron.

Music

The music of the series Hikaru Nanase composed. Was used for the opening credits the song Bravin 'Bad Brew of Riryka and the guy was backed by Shijun no Zankoku by Yosei Teikoku.
