VERNAYAZ

VERNAYAZ is a municipality in the district of Saint- Maurice in the French speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

Geography

The municipality is located in the lower Valais VERNAYAZ on the west bank of the Rhone. In the south of the municipality of Trento and in the north the Salanfe from the west flows forth into the Rhone. The municipality comprises the three villages VERNAYAZ, Miéville kaj Gueuroz.

History

The municipality was created in 1912 VERNAYAZ by elimination of the municipality Salvan.
