Vespaiola

Vespaiola or Vespaiolo is a white grape that is cultivated in the Italian province of Vicenza in the Veneto region. There it is mostly used in the wines of the Controlled Denomination of Origin Breganze. The name derives from the fact that her sweet grapes attract the wasps. The bestockte area is approximately 432 hectares in Italy.

The late maturing variety produces slightly fragrant, golden-yellow wine with an average alcohol content and light tannins. In general, the wines are blended with other varietals. The Wine House Maculan prepares the sweet Torcolato from this variety.
