Victor Ciorbea

Victor Ciorbea ( born October 26, 1954 in Ponor ) is a Romanian politician who ruled since the end of 2012 a member of the Romanian Senate, representing the National Liberal Party. He was mayor of Bucharest in 1996 and from 1996 to 1998 Romanian Prime Minister.

Life

Ciorbea was born in the Transylvanian community Ponor 1954. After completing his law studies, he was from 1979 a judge at the Municipal Court of Bucharest, in the years 1984-1987 Attorney at the Attorney General's Office and taught from 1984 to 1990 at the University of Bucharest. In 1992 he took management seminars at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Policy

Ciorbea occurred in 1981, the Communist Party, but was not politically active. He became a member of the Christian Democratic National Peasant Party ( PNTCD ) 1996.

As a candidate of the opposition party Democratic Alliance Convention (CDR ) Ciorbea was on 10 June 1996 Mayor of Bucharest.
