Victor Clube

Stace Victor Murray Clube ( born October 22, 1934 in London ) is an English astrophysicist and astronomer.

Clube, of the St John 's School in Leatherhead and the Christ Church College, University of Oxford visited in his youth, was Dean of the Faculty Astrophysical his alma mater and worked at the observatories of Edinburgh, Armagh and Cape Town.

His reputation he owes mainly to his work on the theory of " coherent catastrophism ", which he set up with Bill Napier and other colleagues. In addition, he is an expert on comets and cosmology. Clube is also the author of numerous scientific and popular scientific books and an excellent cricket player.

The asteroid ( 6523 ) Clube was named after him.
