Vietka Rajon

The Rajon Vetka (White Russian Веткаўскі раён; Russian Ветковский район ) is an administrative unit in the Homelskaja Woblasz in Belarus with the administrative center in the city Vetka. The Rajon has an area of 1558 km ² and comprises 139 villages, only 82 of which are inhabited, with the remaining 37 settlements are located after the Chernobyl disaster in the restricted area, the population was evacuated from the contaminated area due to the high radiation levels.

Geography

The Rajon Vetka located in the eastern part of the Homelskaja Woblasz. The Nachbarrajone in Homelskaja Woblasz are in the northwest Tschatschersk, in the southeast Dobrusch, southwest and west Homel Buda Kaschaljowa.
