Vietnam Idol

Than Tuong âm Nhac Vietnam Idol ( German: Music Icon: Vietnam Idol, even Vietnam Idol ) is a Vietnamese talent show, which first aired in May 2007 on HTV. Since 2010, however, the broadcasting is done via VTV. It is the Vietnamese version of the British show Pop Idol, which was produced by Simon Fuller and of which there are also their own versions in other countries, see List of offshoot of Pop Idol.

Concept

Usually a month or two before the first showing of the season on television the auditions are held. These are being filmed, and the jury selects the candidates who participate in the so-called theater rounds. There, the candidates have to sing songs selected by the jury. Based on these performances more candidates are selected that occur in live shows in front of an audience. These can then be matched by call or SMS for each candidate. Who has the least votes must leave the show.
