Villa Serrana is a village in Uruguay.

Geography

It is located in the south of the department of Lavalleja in its seventh administrative section about 25 kilometers northeast of the capital of the department of Minas. Villa Serrana lies in the Sierras de Minas between the valleys of the Penitente Arroyo and Arroyo Marmarajá at a level of 300 meters above the sea level. Nearby Villa Serranas there is a reservoir. To the east of the town extends from north to south, the Cuchilla del Aiguá, while the northwest Cuchilla del Pozo passes into Cuchilla Grande, which hits south of the village on the Cuchilla del Aiguá. To the west of the Cerro de los Perros, in the southwest of the Cerro de los Cuervo. Infrastructure

History

Villa Serrana was designed and built in 1945 under the auspices of the architect Julio Vilamajó as a resort in the European style.

The population of Villa Serranas is 89 (as of 2011), including 45 male and 44 female.
