Villanova sull'Arda

Villanova Sull'Arda is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1894 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia -Romagna. The community is located about ten kilometers south of Piacenza and borders the provinces of Cremona ( Lombardy ) and Parma. The Po limits the municipality in the northeast.

To the municipality next to the main village are the hamlets Cignano, Sant'Agata and Soarza

Culture

In the district of Sant'Agata is the former country estate built in 1848 by Giuseppe Verdi, Villa Verdi.

Traffic

The train station of Villanova Sull'Arda lies on the railway line Cremona Fidenza.
