VilmoÅŸ Gheorghe

Vilmos Gheorghe ( Hungarian notation: Vilhelm György; born February 3, 1941 in Tekerőpatak, Hungary, today Valea Stramba, Romania, † 2002) was a Romanian biathlete.

Vilmos Gheorghe started in his playing days for the SC Dinamo Brasov. Three times he took part in the Olympic Winter Games. In 1964 he started in Innsbruck in individual, finished it in fifth place, thus achieving his best international result. He benefited from a good runtime with an eighth place in the runtime, as well as a good shooting performance with only two errors. Four years later, in Grenoble, the Romanian finished in 22nd place in singles and was also a cage rotor with Cimpoia Gheorghe, Nicolae Constantin Carabela and Bărbăşescu in the inaugural season of competition in seventh. Even at the Biathlon World Championships 1966 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he joined, in the two years later, starting at the Olympic Games Season occupation, at the first time in official competition conducted Relay competition and was awarded the Romanian Fifth Season. 1972 followed in Sapporo a 32nd place in singles and ninth place on the side of Nicolae Veştea, Victor Fontana and Ion Ţeposu in the relay race.
