Vinaròs

Vinaròs is a city in eastern Spain, on the Costa del Azahar, on the northern border of the province of Castelló, about 160 kilometers north of Valencia. Vinaròs is one of the largest cities in the province and capital of the county of Baix Maestrat. The town is located on the Mediterranean and has a major port.

Culture and sights

Worth seeing are the church Arxiprestal de l' Assumpció from the seventeenth century in the city center and the picturesque Ermita de la Mare de Deu de la Misericòrdia i de Sant Sebastià, which lies 5 km west of the village on a 144 m high hill.

The Carnival in Vinaròs is an attraction all over the area and is organized by the people through carnival clubs. In the Nit del Pijama all people wear in the city pajamas or pajamas.
