Vincent of Beauvais

Vincent of Beauvais (also Vincent de Beauvais, Latinized Vincentius Bellovacensis, * 1184-1194; † 1264 in Beauvais ) was a French scholar, educator, and Dominicans. He was the author of the Speculum majus, of the first and most comprehensive encyclopedia of the Middle Ages.
