Vinezac

Vinezac is a commune in the Ardèche, in the Rhône-Alpes region with 1273 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

Geography

The market town Vinezac is located in the south of France on the edge of the Regional Park of Monts d'Ardèche, 34 kilometers west of Montelimar and 10 km south-west of Aubenas. Neighboring communities of Vinezac are Largentière in the West, Lachapelle- sous- Aubenas in the northeast, Uzer in the south and Montreal to the southwest. History and Sights

Several dolmens are evidence of settlement of the township of Vinezac in the Neolithic period.

The Committee for Tourism of Ardeche awarded the title Vinezac 2001 Village of Character (, village of character ') because of its vines, its houses made of red sandstone and its listed, Romanesque church. The church of Notre -Dame-de - l'Annonciation (, Annunciation ) was built in the 12th century. It was classified as a monument historique in 1907 ( historical monument ).
