Virgilio Martínez Véliz

Virgilio Martínez Véliz ( born August 31, 1977 in Lima, Peru) is a Peruvian chef and entrepreneur. He is considered the new generation of Peruvian chefs. 2013 reached his restaurant Central Restaurante Rank 50 in the list of The World 's 50 Best Restaurants.

Life

Virgilio began at eighteen to study law at the University of Lima, which he dropped out after three years in order to train as a chef. He worked in restaurants such as the Stage of Four Seasons in Singapore, Lutèce in Manhattan, Cab Fabes in Sant Celoni, Astrid y Gastón Madrid and Bogota.

Projects

Currently, he is the boss and owner of Central Restaurante in the Miraflores district of Lima. In 2012 he opened the Hotel Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco restaurant Senzo and in London the restaurant LIMA.
