Viry-Châtillon

Viry -Châtillon is situated in the department of Essonne, a French town in France, 20 km south of Paris. It belongs to the district Evry and has 31,655 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011). It is situated on the River Seine, this also opens a branch of the river Orge into the Seine.

In Viry -Châtillon, the first airfield in France was opened on 1 April 1909.
