Viscount Bledisloe

Viscount Bledisloe, of Lydney in the County of Gloucester, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family Bathurst.

The family seat is at Lydney Park Lydney, Gloucestershire.

Award

The title was for the conservative politician Charles Bathurst, 1st Baron Bledisloe, created in 1935. This had previously been Governor-General of New Zealand.

Subordinate title

The first Viscount was already in 1918 in the County of Gloucester, raised to Baron Bledisloe, of Lydney. This title, which also belongs to the Peerage of the United Kingdom is now operated as a subordinate item.
