Visor om Slutet (Swedish: "Songs of the End" ) is an EP by the Finnish metal band Finntroll from the year 2003 The band refers to the recordings as an EP, occasionally found by the trade press, the term " mini- CD" or " mini. album " use.

Formation

The time of emergence of the EP was marked by several setbacks for the band. Vocalist Jan " Katla " Jämsen diagnosed with a tumor on the vocal cords and therefore had to leave the band. In its place Tapio Wilska occurred, who was already occurred on the previous album as a guest and then made ​​his debut as a singer in the band. Another setback experienced the band a few weeks before the release of the EP. On March 16, 2003 died of guitarist Teemu " Somnium " Rainmoranta when he drunk plunged off a bridge into a frozen river. Subsequently, the album was dedicated to the deceased.

The EP was recorded in the week from 11 to 18 February 2003 Hästhofmen recording studio in Helsinki and produced by Henri " Trollhorn " Sorvali. As with the previous album, Mika Jussila was also this time responsible for the final mix and rhythm guitarist Samuli " Skrymer " Ponsimaa for the artwork in Finnvox studio.

Style

The EP more clearly from the previous style of the band. Apart from the song Asfågelns Död were on the album does not use rock or metal - typical instruments like electric guitars or drums. Instead, the album offers with a strong dominance of acoustic guitars, flutes and keyboards rather quiet material which corresponded largely acoustic folk with hints of ambient and neofolk. Also, samples of natural sounds (birds, frogs, insects) found on the album use.

As on the original demo Rivfader of 1998 provide most of the songs on the album short instrumental interludes or In-/Outros dar. Försvinn You Som Lyser was re-recorded a year later for the Trollhammaren -EP as a metal version.
