Vítor Manuel da Silva Caldeira

Vítor Manuel da Silva Caldeira (* 1960 in Campo Maior, Portugal) is the President of the European Court of Auditors.

Life

Vítor Manuel da Silva Caldeira received his degree in law from the University of Lisbon and obtained a postgraduate degree in European Studies from the European Institute of the Faculty of Law University bonded to it.

He was from 1983 to 1984 Assistant to the President of the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, and from 1984 to 2000 served as Inspector General of Finance at the Portuguese Ministry of Finance. From 1996 to 1999 he was assistant professor at the Supreme Institute for new occupations.

Vítor Caldeira was elected on 16 January 2008 President of the European Court of Auditors for a term of three years. On 12 January 2011 the re-election for a second term was.
