Vladimir Grebennikov

Vladimir Alexeyevich Grebennikow (Russian: Владимир Алексеевич Гребенников; born August 22, 1932 in Penza, Russian SFSR, † December 19, 1992 ) was a Soviet- Russian ice hockey player who for many years for Krylia Sovetov Moscow and Spartak Moscow in the top division of the USSR, the Klass A, was active. The greatest success of his career was next to a league title with Krylia winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Winter Games 1960.

Career

Vladimir Grebennikow first played in a Moscow factory team hockey. In 1950 he moved to Spartak Moscow, where he was active until 1953. The season 1953/54 he spent at DK K. Marxa Elektrostal before along with his strike partner on the left wing Viktor Prjaschnikow delegated to the then top club Krylia Sovetov Moscow. In the following ten years Grebennikow played exclusively for Krylia with this club and was once Soviet champion (1957 ) and twice runner-up (1956 and 1958). He also excelled in the 1955/56 season with 46 goals as top scorer in the Klass A from. In total he scored during his career 254 goals in 302 games in the Klass A.

In the 1965/66 season he made his career at Spartak Ryazan finish. He was subsequently 1966-1969 coach at Spartak Moscow before he worked in the Moscow plant Promswjas from 1970.

Internationally

On January 9, 1955, he was in a game against Sweden for the first time for the Soviet national team on the ice. and won with the 1957 silver medal at the World Championships. His international career was crowned with the bronze medal at the Olympic Winter Games 1960. For the national team, he scored 17 goals in 22 internationals. On February 28, 1960 he played his last international match.
