Vladimir Kazantsev (athlete)

Vladimir Dmitrievich Kazantsev (Russian: Владимир Дмитриевич Казанцев, English transcription Vladimir Kazantsev, . Born January 6, 1923 in Alekseevka, Saratov Oblast, † 22 November 2007 in Moscow) was a Soviet hurdler.

On 10 July 1951 he presented in Moscow with 8:49,8 a world record over 3000 m steeplechase min on, he improved on 12 June of the following year in Kiev on 8:48,6 min.

At the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, he won the silver medal in 8:51,6 min, 6.2 seconds behind the Americans Horace Ashenfelter.
