Vladimir Ryzhkov

Vladimir Alexandrovich Ryzhkov (Russian: Владимир Александрович Рыжков; born September 3, 1966 in Rubtsovsk, Altai region ) is a Russian politician and a former member of the Duma.

Ryzhkov studied at the Faculty of History of Altai State University and worked as a history lecturer. From 1991 to 1993 he was deputy head of the regional administration of Altai.

He was elected as a candidate for the electoral alliance of Russia in the Duma election in 1993 and was Russia's youngest parliamentarians. As an independent Member of Parliament he is a member of the Committee on questions of Federation and Regional Policy. He is also co-founder of the Committee 2008: Free elections.

Ryzhkov was one of the leaders of the Socialist Republican Party (RPR ), to be the oldest opposition party in Russia. In March 2007, the party was dissolved by a decision of the Supreme Court of Russia, because they did not meet the statutory minimum requirements for a party ( membership, associations), according to the court ruling. The party disputed this view and announced to contact with the case to the European Court of Human Rights. Because his party was not registered, Ryzhkov could not participate in the Duma elections in 2007.

Ryzhkov is co-founder and CEO of establishing a presence in the Party of People's Freedom. This party as a reservoir four different oppositional movements (including the Solidarity ) should participate according to their registration in the Duma elections in 2011.

Ryzhkov is married and has one daughter.
