Vlasta Parkanová

Vlasta Parkanová ( born November 21, 1951 in Prague ) is a Czech politician.

Vlasta Parkanová studied at the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague, where she for JUDr. doctorate. After the political changes in 1989 she co-founded the Občanské fórum in Tábor. Since 1990, she was repeatedly deputies in the Czechoslovak and later in the Czech Parliament from 1991 to 1998 Member of the ODA. She worked next as Head of Department at the Czech Ministry of Interior.

As the successor of Jan Kalvoda was Parkanová 1997-1998 Minister of Justice of the Czech Republic in the governments Klaus and Tošovský.

2001-2009 she was a member of the KDU- CSL and for this from 2007 to May 2009, Czech defense minister in the Topolánek government. Parkanová left in June 2009, the KDU- CSL and joined the initiated by the former finance minister Kalousek party TOP 09 at. After the House of Representatives election 2010, she was Vice President of Parliament.
