Volkan Babacan

Volkan Babacan (2014)

Volkan Babacan ( born August 11, 1988 in Antalya) is a Turkish football player. The goalkeeper was for many years a regular player of Turkish junior national teams.

Club career

The young goalkeeper has played for the youth and senior team of his club. In the 2006/2007 season his club gave him İstanbulspor A.Ş., where he was in 13 games in goal. In the 1170 minutes he conceded 21 goals.

After the second goalkeeper Fenerbahçe Serdar Kulbilge left the team for the season 2008/ 09, Babacan Volkan Demirel moved behind a position. His debut in the Süper Lig he gave on September 20, 2008 compared Gençlerbirliği Ankara.

In summer 2010, Babacan joined Kayserispor. For the 2011/2012 season he was loaned to Manisaspor, after which it was purchased and has since become a regular player and captain of his team.

National

Babacan took the Turkish U- 17 team at the U -17 Football Championship in 2004 and was at the local Vorrundenaus in all three games available for use. Also in the U-17 European Championship in 2005, he was goalkeeper and completed all five games at winning the European Championship title. In the subsequent U- 17 World Cup in Peru in 2005 was Babacan captain of the team with players such as Nuri Şahin, Deniz Yılmaz, Tevfik Köse and Caner Erkin, as the team with 3:4 failed only in the semifinals to Brazil and finally the 4th Place occupied.

With the U-18 selection, he took part in the UEFA - CAF Meridian Cup in 2005, the same year he won the Turkish Olympic team silver medal at the Mediterranean Games in 2005. Also in the U-19 European Championship in 2006 Babacan was a regular 'keeper could from but did not prevent the group stage. With the U -21, he failed each already in the European Championship Qualification 2009 play-off against Belarus, 2011 in the group stage in Switzerland.
