Vrapčište

Vrapciste ( Macedonian Врапчиште; Albanian Vrapçishti or Vrapçisht ) is a village and the administrative seat of the homonymous Opština ( Alb. Komuna ) in the north- western Macedonia.

Geography

Vrapciste is located on the western edge of the Polog said plane and is located a few kilometers from the town of Gostivar away. To the west the up to 2000 meters high mountains rise Šar Planina ( Alb. Sharr ), whose eastern slope is completely forested above the village. East of Vrapciste are fertile fields.

The Opština of Vrapciste has belonged to a population of 25,399, of which 21,101 Albanians, Turks, 3134, 1041 Macedonians and 123 other ethnicities. The Opština belong to besides the actual village still 14 other villages. The village has only 4874 inhabitants.

Traffic

East of the village leads to the M4 north to south, where Vrapciste has its own connection. Parallel to the highway going the non-electrified route Skopje - Kičevo the Macedonian railways.
