W. S. Holland

WS " Fluke " Holland ( born April 22, 1935 in Saltillo, Tennessee) is an American drummer and member of the backing band of country musician Johnny Cash, the Tennessee Three.

Career

The music career began in 1954 when Holland's record label, Sun Records as the drummer of country musician Carl Perkins. He played in every publication of Perkins at Sun Records the drums, so even with Perkins ' hit Blue Suede Shoes. Holland toured in the 1950s with music legends like Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis.

1960 Holland was next to guitarist Luther Perkins and bassist Marshall Grant, the third member of the backing band of Johnny Cash, the Tennessee Two who called themselves from that point on Tennessee Three.

Johnny Cash is said to have told Holland: " I want you to work with me every show I play for as long as I'm in the business" (such as " I want you to play in my band, as long as I 'm in the Business " ). This did WS Holland until 1997, the year in which Johnny Cash had health reasons to give up the tours. For the An- All-Star - Tribute -to- Johnny Cash concert, he returned in 1999 along with Marshall Grant one last time together with Johnny Cash in New York City to the stage. Cash died in 2003.

Even today, WS Holland is Bob Wootton, guitarist Perkins replaced after his death, an active member of the Tennessee Three.
