Wacław Martyniuk

Waclaw Andrzej Martyniuk ( born November 10, 1949 in Bytom ) is a Polish politician, trade union official and since 1991 member of the Sejm in the I, II, III. , IV, V and VI. Election period.

He finished his studies in 1972 at the University of Economics in Poznan. Until 1999 he was a member of Socjaldemokracja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ( Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland - SdRP ), after which he joined the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD). From 1984 to 1994 he was a functionary and Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Miners' unions and the Ogólnopolskie Porozumienie Związków Zawodowych ( alliance of the left trade unions in Poland). 1991, 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2005, he was elected to the Sejm. Since 1997 he is responsible for party discipline in the Group of the SLD.

In the 2007 parliamentary elections, he was on the list of Lewica i Demokraci ( Left and Democrats - LiD ) elected with 16,125 votes for the electoral district of Gliwice for the sixth time in the Sejm. He is Deputy Chairman of the Sejm Commission for MPs Affairs and Member of the Commission of Public Finance.

On 22 April 2008 he became a member of the Group Lewica.
