Wahkare Khety I

Wahkare Khety I., and Wah -ka- Re Khety, or Wah -ka- Re - Khety ( in throne name spelling) was an ancient Egyptian King (Pharaoh) of the 9th dynasty ( First Intermediate Period ).

Rule

Whether Achtoes, who was according to Manetho, the first ruler of the dynasty, with wah -ka- Re - Khety is identical, is questionable. According to Manetho, he was very cruel, went mad and eventually eaten by a crocodile.

A coffin of the 12th dynasty, who called Wah -ka- Re - Khety in the Coffin Texts, was found in Deir el- Bersheh. Possibly, these texts have been written for the ruler and later copied.
