Waldsee (Verbandsgemeinde)

The community association Waldsee is an administrative unit in the form of a local authority in the Rhein- Pfalz-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. The municipality is composed of the two independent local churches Otter city and lake. The administrative headquarters are in Waldsee.

History
The community association Waldsee was from projects launched in the 1960s, Rhineland-Palatinate, functional and territorial reform on the basis of the " Thirteenth state law on administrative simplification in the land of Rhineland -Palatinate " dated 1 March 1972 entered into force on 22 April 1972 newly formed. Until the district reform in 1969, the municipality belonged to the district of Speyer and since its dissolution in the same year to the district of Ludwigshafen (since 2003 Rhein-Pfalz -Kreis).
With the aim of optimizing the local authority structures, the state government enacted in 2010, the first state law for municipal and administrative reform. Regarding the association communities was determined that this at least 12,000 inhabitants ( main residence on June 30, 2009) to include. At the reporting date ( 30 June 2009) was the association of municipalities Waldsee 8,610 inhabitants. In a given from the Ministry of the Interior and Sport report commissioned by June 2011, the recommendation of a merger of the previously combined free communities Altrip and Neuhofen was pronounced with the municipality Waldsee. The municipality and the municipality Altrip Waldsee had agreed within the " voluntary " phase on 19 December 2011, the formation of a new municipality. The common Neuhofen other hand was planning a voluntary merger with the combined free community Limburgerhof, but failed due to a citizens' decision in Limburgerhof.
The adopted on November 22, 2013 " State law on the voluntary formation of a new municipality Waldsee " stipulates that the previous association of municipalities Waldsee dissolved on July 1, 2014 and one from the previously belonging congregations Otter City and Forest Lake, as well as the previous association free communities Altrip and Neuhofen new community association formed.
