The gold strawberry ( Waldsteinia fragarioides ), also called strawberry Waldsteinie, is a species of the genus Waldsteinien ( Waldsteinia ) in the subfamily Rosoideae.

Features

The gold strawberry is a perennial, forming foothills Rhizomstaude, reaches the heights of growth 8-20 centimeters. The outer sepals are missing. The fruits stems are slightly hairy.

Bloom time is from May to June.

Occurrence

The Gold Strawberry occurs in moist to dry woods and on shady slopes in eastern North America.

Use

The gold strawberry is rarely used as an ornamental plant for groups of trees.
