Walker Hancock

Walker Kirkland Hancock ( born June 28, 1901 in St. Louis, Missouri, † December 30, 1998 in Gloucester, Massachusetts ) was an American sculptor.

He was known for his monumental sculptures, including the Stone Mountain in Atlanta.

At the end of the Second World War he worked for the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives Section in Europe.

In 1989 he received the National Medal of Arts, 1990, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
