Waltensburg / Vuorz ( German and until 1943 officially Waltensburg, Romansh Vuorz [ vuə̯ʁts ]? / I ) is a municipality in the district of Ruis in the district Surselva the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

In the colors of the coat of arms shows the Federal Upper Saint George, patron of the church and namesake of the castle Joerg Bergmeister, the location of the church. The motif also showed already the municipality seal.

Origin Name

The name comes from the original name Waltensburg Waltramsburg. Waltram is an old German man's name, the exercise on a combination of waltan = and = Hraban Raven is based.

Geography

The hamlet is located in the Surselva on a high plateau on the southern slope of the Anterior Rhine Valley. A small part of the community and the station is on the right side of the Anterior Rhine.
