Walter Eucken Institut

The Walter Eucken Institut eV is a non-profit independent social and economic research institution in the area of the Albert- Ludwigs- University in Freiburg im Breisgau. It was founded in 1954 with the help of Ludwig Erhard and is particularly concerned with regulatory and economic issues within the meaning of ordo-liberalism of the Freiburg School. The Institute sees itself as a " center of excellence in public policy and regulatory economic basic research". Head of Institute

From 1964 to 1970, Friedrich August von Hayek, Chairman of the Institute, after which he was honorary president until 1992. On him Erich Hopp man followed as head of the institute.
