Walter Müller (actor)

Walter Müller ( born May 6, 1911 in Prague, † March 2, 1969 in Starnberg ) was an Austrian actor.

The son of Anton and Theresia Müller grew up in Vienna and began his artistic career in 1927 as a chorister at the State Theatre in Linz. After that he worked in soil Bach choral apprentice and in Bad Hall for the first time as an actor.

He received further engagements in Liberec, Brno, Jihlava and Karlovy Vary. In Ostrava, he was employed as Buffo and operetta tenor. In 1938, he came as a second bass to the Vienna Volksoper and sang in operettas such as Frau Luna and The Count of Luxembourg. In 1939 he moved to the theater on Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin, and from 1940 until the theater lock from 1944 he was protagonist of many revues and operettas at the Metropol Theater. After the war he played at the Viennese citizens theater, where he occasionally also directed.

Since 1938 he has also worked extensively for radio. In the cinema Müller was from 1940 to see and soon set to the always funny, singing sonny boy. He became a commonly used and popular film actor in the first half of the fifties as a friend or competitor of the real heroes. This often he played the type of comic lover.

At the beginning of the sixties, his film career was coming to an end. He acted again primarily in operetta roles in theater and celebrated in 1966 his last success in a performance of mask in blue in the theater of the West on the side of Marika Rokk.

Walter Müller was in 1937 married to Hedwig Jahnel and one daughter. He practiced for a time in Vienna a wine tavern - restaurant.
