Walther Reyer
Walther Reyer ( born September 4, 1922 in Hall in Tirol, † September 6, 1999 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian Chamber actor and film actor.
Life and work
The son of an officer after graduation studied first medicine. He then took acting lessons at Fred Liewehr and worked as a radio announcer at Radio Innsbruck. In 1947 his debut as an actor on the stage in Bregenz Vorarlberg State. 1948 and 1949 he made appearances at the Exl- stage in Innsbruck, 1949-1952 at the State Theatre Innsbruck, 1951 and 1952 at the Exl- stage Innsbruck, from 1952 to 1954, he was back. To the United Stages in Graz In 1955 Reyer to Vienna and played alternately at the Theater in der Josefstadt and the Burgtheater. From 1956 to 1958 he was a member of the Burgtheater, where he remained until his death. Reyer was life especially theater actors, the preferred challenging tasks in pieces by William Shakespeare, Friedrich Schiller and the Austrian dramatists. Having already embodied in the 1956 Salzburg Festival, the "good society ," he was experiencing 1960-1968 as everyone in the title role.
In the film, Reyer was in the fifties, particularly officer roles in productions that have played at the time of the Imperial and Royal Monarchy. He was known primarily as a Hungarian Count Andrassy in the second and third part of the Sissi trilogy. In the war drama The Doctor of Stalingrad, he played a German medical assistant, who falls in love with a Soviet camp doctor. Even in the two-parter by Fritz Lang The Tiger of Eschnapur and The Indian Tomb, he convinced a passionate Maharaja. In Claude Chabrol's The Eye of Evil ( original title L' oeil du malin ) he played the cuckolded husband Andreas Hartmann. Later Reyer was mainly in TV movies, and finally to see 1992-1999 as the main character of the series The Bergdoktor.
Private life
Walther Reyer was married four times, the first two times with the actresses Erika Remberg and Gretl Elb. For the love connection with Käthe Lentsch, former soubrette, comes the son Wolfgang, from his marriage to Heather Remberg comes the daughter Veronika. His marriage to his third wife, four children, Claudia, Claudia -Maria, Cordula, Cristina and Clemens come. The daughter Cordula is a well-known Austrian model. Recently the actor was married since 1992 with his wife Angela, who also managed him.
He was buried on 17 September 1999 in an honorary dedicated grave in Vienna's Central Cemetery (Group 40, Number 100 ).
