Warda Al-Jazairia

Warda al - Dschaza'iriya (Arabic وردة الجزائرية, DMG Warda al - ʾ Ǧazā Iriya, Warda, the Algerian ', also known as Al- Jazairia transcribed; born July 22, 1939 in Puteaux near Paris, † May 17, 2012 in Cairo ), usually just Warda ( "Rose" ) called, was an Algerian singer. It was considered one of the most famous interpreters of Arabic music.

Warda was the daughter of an Algerian and a Lebanese woman who had emigrated to France.

She also acted in feature films.

Warda died in May 2012 at the age of 72 of a heart attack.
