Description

The Warlords games are set in the medieval fantasy world of Etheria, wrestling for military supremacy in the different fractions. The games involve not only the possibility of a free game on randomly generated maps and single-player campaigns, whose missions are linked by a loose story told. All parts use it a turn-based gameplay.

Lie on the mission map usually distributed several castles that are the starting point for the unit production and applies it to conquer. Each castle, a unit train at the same time, the duration of training in rounds is mostly dependent on the type and thickness of the unit to be formed. However, the selection of available unit types is limited and varies from fortress to fortress. Part of the game is therefore also the organization of the production unit. The player can modify the production portfolio or let units from far to the hinterland castles put on the front line automatically. The player is required for the unit maintenance or alteration of the unit range of a castle of gold. This is usually taken by the conquered castles, generating a certain amount of gold per turn.

The standard unit types, so-called heroes who represent a second central aspect of the game series and offer alternative possibilities for action. Besides castles exist, for example, special localities like old ruins or dungeons that can only be accessed by heroes. There, gold or particularly powerful creatures can be found, joining the players. Heroes can next to it similar to role-playing games accept quests they receive for their fulfillment to the rewards experience points and special items. In this way, about the objects or a level up the attributes of the hero to be improved, what they can become very powerful units. In addition, they play in the campaigns of action and game-related roles.
